Blow moulding is a process by which the hollow plastic parts are manufactured. It is inspired by the art of glass blowing which is an art by itself. This method is advantageous in moulding the plastic materials. At first it was used to make baby rattles using celluloid but later the material used was changed to bring about more innovations in this very method. This method is very versatile making the manufacturers produce more items by bringing about some slight change in the material used.
Blow moulding toys are those toys that are made using this method or manufacturing process. Blow moulding toys include baby rattles, squeaky toys, bellows and air pumps. The toys that are produced are safe for the child because they are made using non toxic material. Most of the toys made are meant for the young children though there are some made for the older children also. The toys are bright and colourful. They are unbreakable and water proof. The toys made are based on the different cartoon characters like noddy while some are made to look like the animals. One classic example of a blow moulded toy is the glow worm that is made by using this process. It is made of a material that glows in the dark.
Most of the beach toys are also made using this process as the toys manufactured using this process in water proof. Blow moulded toys are a perfect toy for the very young children especially the ones who are still in their infancy because these toys are a safer option to the ones made of harder materials which may hurt the child.
