A sock is a piece of clothing that is worn over the foot, ankle and lower part of the leg. It is usually worn with the shoes. Socks are an essential part of clothing. Nowadays many branded companies are manufacturing socks especially those companies that manufacture sportswear like Nike and Adidas or the ones that manufacture and specialize in formal wear. Like every garment there are many types of socks that are worn at different times. There are the ankle socks that are worn usually by girls. Then there are the socks that are worn while playing football, in this case the socks is thick and long to provide space for the shin guard that is worn for protection by the football players.
The types of socks worn by the little children are different. They are brighter and colorful. They come in colorful stripes, polka dots or even with prints of action figures and cartoons. Socks are something that is worn by the children during most part of the day and some of the children wear it even at night while sleeping.
For the adults the manufactures keep in mind that they are ones who go to the office and work so they manufacture socks that are usually of the neutral shades and go with almost all the suits. These shades are usually the conventional and safe colour black or grey or white. They may come in stripes or maybe plain. Some may have prints on them but they are usually minute and small. For women who wear socks usually when they wear casual wear or while wearing sportswear the colours are of a lighter shade and the designers even use shades of light pinks and blues. They may have prints like the minute ones that will compliment the shoes. Women usually wear socks that are ankle length as they are more comfortable.
Socks also form a major part of the sports wear as all sports men wear socks during their practice or during the actual game. So because of this many of the sportswear brands manufacture socks which are a part of daily clothing not just for the sportsmen but for every men.
