We sleep in order to rejuvenate ourselves therefore sleepwear has a major role to play in helping us to get a peaceful and restful sleep. Sleepwear may be a single piece garment like a night gown or a night dress usually worn by the females whereas the two piece garment called the night suit is worn by the male and female alike. Besides this sleepwear also consists of a dressing gown which is worn over the night suit or the night dress when one is not sleeping. The reason for this is that the night dress is usually made of a thinner material than the other clothes so one may catch cold easily if you move around without the dressing gown.
A favorite among the children is the pajamas, especially the conventional checked ones that are woolen as well as cotton. A pajama is not only comfortable but is very warm and does not restrict the movement of your limbs at all which is probably one essential quality in any kind of sleepwear. Pajamas also come in very cute prints that the children like a lot. Moreover in cold places a pajama is wiser thing to wear because it is warmer.
A nightdress on the other hand is worn by females and may have frills and laces to make it more pretty and feminine. A nightdress may be made up of cotton or maybe of silk or satin to give a soft, smooth and luxurious feel. They also come in prints or maybe plain. Most of the night dresses come with a matching dressing gown. They also are of different length as some of these are knee length while some are full length.
Men wear night suits that are usually of a neutral colour, mostly without any prints. They do not prefer the bright shades except for those who are really adventurous when it comes to colours. Night suits are also worn with a dressing gown.
