Apparel is just another word for clothing. Clothes have both a functional role as well as other purposes other than the basic function as a cover. Clothes also work as a symbol of status and that is why fashion has played a dominating role in the society over the years.
Women apparel is of various types and like everything else it has evolved over time and is different in different countries, culture and community; a women in America will dress in a very different manner as compared to the women in Europe. It is so not only because of the functional reasons like the difference in climate but also due to cultural difference. A women’s apparel includes a large variety of items like dresses, skirts, trousers, jackets, jumpers, coats, tops etc. among these clothes there are many that are not limited to this particular gender like trousers though a trouser worn by a female is quite different from the one worn by the man.
Women’s apparel is designed to suit the needs of the gender. But among the clothes available, there are a wide variety of clothes available in the market, with different designs to suit the occasion, different fabrics to suit the liking of each woman. Fashion industry being a growing industry has come up with attractive offers to tempt the women folk because of the obvious reason that women will usually put a greater emphasis on clothing and accessories though this doesn’t mean that mean folk are not interested in clothes.
The fashion for women has been changing over the years and that too in a very rapid rate. The clothes change according to seasons and so do the taste of women. But when we consider the word apparel we must also consider the word accessories, which go along with the clothing like earrings etc.
But no matter what it is not advisable to follow any trend blindly because though fashion is a social phenomenon the style remains your own. |
