Men’s apparel basically means clothing for men. It covers a whole range of clothes be it traditional wear also known as ethnic wear, western wear, formal wear and the informal wear. The formal wear ranges from the dinner jackets to tuxedo suits, one can also go for a traditional outfit to wear on a formal occasion, which maybe to national dress or one that is worn by a particular community based on culture.
Informal wear on the other hand basically covers the clothes which men may wear when they are at home; talking a walk or just relaxing etc. it ranges from jeans, tee shirts and all the clothes that is best described by the word casual. These are clothes that are also called leisurewear.
Besides that there are few things that come under the word apparel like ties that is a formal and an office wear. There are also some clothes that are related to work like uniforms that a policeman or a firefighter may wear at work.
There are different clothes for different occasions and sports wear is on of them. It covers the clothes that a person may wear while working out, jogging. Swimwear is on the other hand as the name suggests worn when one is swimming. These are terms that are not gender based but can be used to describe clothes for both male and female.
With means apparel also comes accessories like cufflinks etc. footwear also plays an important role in the men’s apparel and this too like the clothes are placed under the two categories of formal and informal.
However, when we think of the word fashion we usually think of clothes that are meant for women but this does not necessarily mean that the clothes for men are limited. Like the clothes for women there are a large number of designers specializing in men’s wear and coming up with clothes that are best suited to the place, taste, community, culture and country. |
