A career in agriculture no longer is synonymous with  farming alone. Agriculture is the  most diverse and broadest sector in terms of career opportunities. The agricultural education system generally offers degree programs in 11 specific disciplines viz. agriculture, veterinary science, agricultural engineering, forestry, home science, dairy technology, fisheries, sericulture, marketing, banking and co-operation, horticulture and food science.
